What Terva does in Cliniko, and what it leaves alone.

  • Offers real open times

Reads your Cliniko diary and offers times that are open.

  • Finds existing patients

Confirms details such as date of birth, and needs one exact match.

  • Books the appointment

Checks the time is still free, then books it into your diary.

  • New patients

A request for your team. Terva never creates a Cliniko patient.

  • Moves an appointment

Moves an upcoming appointment to another open time.

  • Cancels an appointment

Cancels it when the patient asks, and writes up the call.

Left alone in Cliniko

  • Clinical notes. Terva never reads or writes them.
  • Payments and invoices. Terva takes no payment.
  • Cliniko’s own online bookings, reminders, wait list and telehealth, which keep running.
  • Anything you haven’t opened to phone booking.

You choose how much Terva does.

  1. Takes a booking request

Your team confirms it in Cliniko. The Free plan works this way.

  2. Offers real times, your team confirms

Terva offers open times, and every booking goes to your team to confirm.

  3. Books straight in

For patients Cliniko already has, within your booking rules. Set up with our team on the Reception plan.

Getting connected takes one Cliniko API key.

  1. Agree what Terva may book

You choose the appointment types, practitioners and locations.

  2. Create an API key in Cliniko

A user who can manage appointments creates it. Archive it to revoke it.

  3. Walk one booking through

We take one booking from the call to your diary, then switch it on.

Book a call to connect Cliniko

Part of the Reception plan. You forward the calls your team can’t get to and can stop at any time. See Terva for physio clinics and occupational therapy practices.

Questions practices on Cliniko ask

Something else? Book a demo and ask us.

Where is the Cliniko API key, and which user should create it?

A Cliniko user creates it under My info, then Manage API keys, and Cliniko shows it once. It carries that user’s permissions, so use one whose role can manage appointments.

Does Terva book new patients into Cliniko?

No. Terva books patients Cliniko already has, and a new or unmatched caller becomes a booking request for your team, so it never creates a duplicate.

Does Terva change our Cliniko online bookings or reminders?

No. Cliniko’s online bookings, reminders, wait list and telehealth keep working as you set them up, and Terva covers the phone.

What does it cost to connect Cliniko?

It’s part of the Reception plan, which is A$200 a month with 100 minutes included, then 80c a minute, with no setup fee. On Free, Terva takes booking requests.

Where is our data kept?

Terva’s main application and database are hosted in Australia, and Terva doesn’t use patient information or call content to train its AI. Calls aren’t recorded; your dashboard keeps the transcript and summary. Our privacy policy has the details.
